There's this commonly claimed nonsense that schools and corporations are looking for 'out of the box thinkers' - 'interesting and unconventional individuals' to enroll or employ, yet all require applicants to fill out 10-12 pages of mind-numbing, and mostly irrelevant information about themselves. And this after all is to appeal and conform to the dullards of the personnel department who are as likely to recognize the value of an unconventional man as they are to notice a neutrino bouncing around inside thier vacuous skulls.

The Poor

A day doesn't go by without one hearing about the moral obligation of the wealthy to address the growing income gap and polarization of American Society. There's no doubt some truth to it - american greed has become legend.

However, why is there never any significant criticism of the lower classes and their breeding habits. The 'poor' are reproducing themselves 4 to 5 times over. Is there any kind of job growth that will accommodate such numbers? And just how qualified will these coming generations of the 'under-privledged be? What percent will be employable for anything more complicated than janitors and truck drivers?

The middle and upper classes limit the number of their offspring to that which they can afford to raise. Yet they're expected to pay increasing shares of their income to provide financial support and services for the swelling, bovine spawn of the 'underprivileged'.

However, these 'underprivileged' apparently have no moral responsibly for self-restraint or denial as they insist on such luxuries as smart phones, big screen TVs, Laptops, Luxury cars, and 250 dollar track shoes.

America has been able to afford a great number of preposterous delusions since it came out on the top of the world in the 1950's. It's been a nice run, but the show is over.

One of the most preposterous and pathetic sentiments expressed by americans is the notion that taking any action whatsoever against an enemy might; ' just make him mad.' (That's like some guy trying to set your house on fire and you won't hose it out cause he might get wet.)

So recently, as some hearings where held to explore the process of radicalization of muslims, there was the breathless notion that such would antagonize the muslim 'community' and serve as recruitment propaganda for the jihadists.

First of all, if you've reached the point were you fear angering your enemies - in this case mortal enemies - you've lost. You may win as many battles as you like, but the war is over.

Second, there's is nothing whatsoever that cannot be used as recruitment propaganda for such as the muslim jihad bunch.

I've a simple suggestion to all those 'citizens' of america who insist on labeling themselves with a hyphen; i.e Chinese-American, Italian-American, African-American, and so on.

If you must identify yourself with an ethnic group or nationality then place such labels --- AFTER THE HYPHEN.

So if you think you're mexican heritage is important, then refer to yourself a American-mexican, or American-irish, or American-jew, or American-negro, get the idea? Instead of separating yourself from other americans, join them, and let them know that your old world connections are secondary to your American Identity. This I do believe will make for a more perfect Union.

NYC Mosque

I don't see the issue of the proposed islamic center in NYC - ground zero as a freedom of religion issue, but rather a legitimate concern of sedition. Islam is by design an adversary to all other form of government and religion. We should not welcome an Islamic center anymore than we should welcome an master race teaching institute.

Mexico for the undocumented

I think it's high time the U.S. liberates Mexico from it's centuries of corrpution and bondage.

Here's a way to get at least a 10 million spanish speakers onboard:
Every illegal immigrant in the U.S. will be granted 40 acres and a tractor after the overthrow of the political system and all it's corrupt beneficiaries have been disenfranchised.

It's be a lot easier than the ridiculous efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq, and in the long-run quite profitable to have a border nation of americanized landowners and businessmen working under a reasonable facsimile of a democracy.

Prove it

I'm trying to register with a company called Central Casting on the off chance I may get some work as an 'extra'. An 'extra' is a human prop. Being an extra is an excercise in self-annihilation. So imagine my dismay to find out that in order to be considered to be a 'nobody special' I have to provide a current passport, or driver's license and Social Security Card or birth certificate. Homeland security is cracking down dont' you know. I tell the guy that I have a passport but it's expired. That won't due he says - it has to be current. I tell him it's only ten months out and it does a very good job of proving I am who I say I am. It's a friggin' passport after all isn't it. Is a passport a fraud after it's expiration date? Son of a Bitch! A driver's license is no longer good enough, because the DMV passes the things out to anyone with a pulse. I've no friggin idea what's become of my birht certificate - I was born in 1957. The same goes for my social security card. All this hassle just to get some work being a nobody for eight hours.

Sustaining 2 million unemployed is too much of a risk for the national debt, but saving 30 thousand union jobs for GM is vital? The congressional swine are hitting new lows every month. What is a citizen supposed to take pride in about his country? In California, it's considered necessary to increase fines and other so-called fees in order to prevent the layoff of government employees, also union jobs. There's more than enough to revolt against at this point - much more than anything imposed by Britain on the colonies.

Okay, so I finally watched this movie, and I gotta say this is a fascist fag's dream come true. I know it's for young men - but for fuck's sake it's nothing but homo-erotic horse shit. I actually found the slaughter boring.

WTF? The last two online purchases have included a tax on the shipping. In California, there was never a tax on services, only products. Since when and what slimy authority has now okayed this?

Cinco de Mayo

It's a much bigger celebration in the USA than in Mexico, due I'm told to the marketing of beer. So all these ignoramus protesters have capitalism to thank for the celebration in the first place.

In any case, I've always wondered what Mexicans have to be so proud of anyway? The overwhelming majority of those in the USA legally or otherwise are here because their native country is so awful to live in.

It's the same with central and south America. So what's with the open hostility to the country you're in and the waving of a flag that represents what you've longed to escaped?

15 tear old pasta

I bought a package of spaghetti years back because the noodles where 18", long and the label looked cool. The package itself was simply a large piece of blue butcher paper that had been wrapped around a bunch of noodles, and cellophane taped closed with a colorful, old country-looking label. I thought it would be fun to cook them up and roll them on a fork. Because of the length however, there was no suitable container to store it in and I'd ended up placing the package on a high shelf in the kitchen. After a while it became a decorative object and was never opened.

I moved into my place in 1992. I know that I purchased the spaghetti not long afterwards. Today, I was making room for some liquor bottles and decided the pasta package had seen it's days. The blue paper had long ago faded to a dull gray, and the label had lost its charm. Out of curiosity I opened the package expecting to see the remains of weevils and powered pasta but to my surprise the noodles looked perfectly fine. I did a google search to see if there were any comments about the safety of old pasta and discovered an article out of Greece about grocery stores selling pasta that had past it's expiration date in the mid-90's.

I boiled up a bunch and ate them with olive oil and garlic. They were delicious. I'm still here to write about it.

Fed vs Citizen Randy

The Obama administration has let us know that it's going to reduce the annual pay raise for federal employees from 2.4% to 2.0%. The amount to cover the reduced amount is 19.9 billion dollars.

On the other hand, as a private citizen-freelancer, having made an honest mistake on my income tax return in 2006 owed the IRS an additional 1300.00. I made some payments on an installment plan, but then could no longer afford too. They penalized me, they charged interest on the penalty, they had also charged me to make installment payments in the first place. The following year, they confiscated my refund of 11,000.00. I wrote them a letter protesting the original penalty and they granted a waiver, but the interest on it was still due along with the"statutory assessment". This additional money they demanded wiped out the funds I'd already paid and generated another 500.00 dollars owed them in addition too the 11,000.00 refund they'd confiscated.

Today, I discovered that the 457 dollars I had in my checking account has been confiscated by the IRS and they still want more. If any bills come due that I can't cover, I'll be charged 35 dollars a day by my bank for insufficient funds. It seem the bank does the favor of paying the bill despite my lack of funds and then charges me for it. It amounts to compelling me to borrow money at a virtual interest rate that would make a loan shark blush.

This same bank by the way has been given billions in low interest loans and outright grants from the public till.

I'm getting by so far on unemployment checks and small 'loans' to make up my monthly expenses. I'm approaching homelessness while the government employees are making the 'sacrifice' of a reduced pay raise?

I don't think "the government" is of. or by, or for 'the people' anymore. I think the government is 'them' and not 'us'.
