This president is a mean-spirited prick.  So too Harry Reid.  They're going out of their way to inflict as much misery on American citizens as possible - gratuitous meanness that they assume will be blamed on the republicans.  You don't have to like republicans (most of us don't all that much) but to shrug your collective shoulders over this time of tyranny is sickening.  If this same scenario where taking place under a republican administration, the howls of moral outrage would be deafening.

Everytime an upgrade comes along there's some un-fucking-forseen problem that requires research on the internet to figure out how to fix it or work around it.  This ongoing tit for tat with Apple and Google leaves most of us confused, fucked and wasting time money and effort on what was supposed to be convenient.  The latest is getting one's gmail into an iOS mail account.  I'm so friggin' disgusted with this bullshit.  I would jump on a third party platform in a heartbeat.

Gun Control

I don't think the issue about "Gun Control" is really about controlling guns.  There are already plenty of laws controlling, or rather regulating, guns.  The problem is poor enforcement.  The choice that's really on offer in the so-called gun control debate is to whether to have a police state, or not to have a police state.

That is the lie.  Nothing does more damage to any human endeavor, be it of the the mind or the heart.  The lie is the great knife that stabs fatal.  We should as a culture attach much more importance than we do to such crimes as these.  In many case they should be considered capital and warrant a life sentence as well as monetary destruction.

I've been a supporter since 1986.  I'm now completely fed up with the greedy corporate nasty it's become.  The breaking point was when they left me stranded with my desktop running OS 10.6 and the iCloud service.  This was somehow unworkable for the apple customers like me, but just fine for Window's users.

Is it just a lack of technical savvy that the sound on all the government hearings is so badly distorted? How difficult in this day and age is it to set microphone levels. Is the congress so bereft of funding they can't hire a competent sound man. I think it's likelly intentional that the production values are kept so low. The last thing the congress wants is for the public to be watching what they say and do.

Security

Eventually it will be determined that each individual emits a unique radio frequency response much like currently used RFI tags used to control inventory and discourage theft. Once an individual is 'tagged' they will be locatable almost anywhere on the planet. I suppose with this technology, any threat to the state could be made a pariah to his cohorts knowing that he had become a surveillance and targeting device.

Osama bin yawnin'

What I find most notable about the elimination of Osama bin Laden is how underwhelming the whole thing is. There is of course a swoon of the media, thankful for something to emote about, and there's plenty of 'told ya so' going on about the Gitmo and enhanced interrogation. But after all, the bearded Bozo was mostly shut out of the contest anyway. Others have taken over. It's fair that he's dead, but the world's no safer a place (maybe a bit better). Also, everyone is claiming that water-boarding and the like led to this 'success'. The original argument for enhanced interrogation was timelines of info needed to prevent catastrophic killings. It's been ten years now, so it's not like there was any hurry. Furthermore, if proponents of such interrogation techniques don't view them as torture, then why bother defending them now?

SUPERMAN - world citizen

Rumor is, superman will be resigning his U.S. citizenship in order to take on more global crime-fighting concerns.

So - a fictional character with fictional citizenship is going to pursue fictional global missions for the world's sake.

Nonsense: the chief concern of this 'hero' is marketability. Why limit Superman's appeal with a made in USA stamp on him? There's a third-world out there with plenty of money to spend on fantasy. Why be financially hindered by anything so prosaic as cultural pride. Still, citizen or not, "Superman" is behaving just like an all-american business man and expanding his market.

I'd never heard of this guy until today, when I watched his breathless editorial about a 2nd rate cartoon. This guy is hysterical and pathetic. He'd be better off as a tent revival preacher. But then I guess he is in his way, speaking with his urgent sanctimony to the his particular brand of believers.
